
Midge Fountain, 55, 4702 C.R. 24, Russell, died on December 5, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital in Syracuse. The funeral will be December 10, 2008 from 5-8 pm, at the Lawrence Funeral Home.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Canton from 4-5 PM for family and from 5-8 PM for friends and co-workers. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Surviving are her husband Basil; her children, Keri Fountain Thompson of Ogdensburg and Mark Fountain and his fiancee Erika Rowe of Russell; her siblings, Harlan “Harley” Lowry, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Lisbon, Carol Towne and husband Barry of Lisbon, Bonnie Howard and husband William of Russell, LeeAnne Ross and her husband Michael of Russell and Janet Campbell and her husband Jim of Lisbon; and five granddaughters, Jacy, Ashley and Kristy Thompson and Kennedy and Kiera Fountain.
Born March 1, 1953 in Canton, NY a daughter of the late Harlan E. and Norma A. (Fredette) Lowry, she graduated Knox Memorial School in Russell, class of 1971. She attended Canton ATC (SUNY) for one year. On May 18, 1974, she married Basil Jay Fountain at the Canton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fountain was employed by the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services, Child Support Unit, as a Data Entry Operator for 35 years. She retired in August 2008. Mrs. Fountain, “Midge”, was devoted to her family and the caring of her five granddaughters. She enjoyed spending time at “Camp” and was an avid garage-saler. She was also known as being very social and would speak to any and all.
